A Phoenix Burning

Finding Pretties

Well, I didn’t get the opportunity to take as many photographs as I had hoped today, but the day was not a total loss.

A couple from today:

  1. You did find pretty! My lilacs have passed by – I miss them terribly. Nothing beats their scent in the spring time.

    • Don’t they smell wonderful?! Love them.

  2. The second image is amazing – not only because lalacs are so nice (I have several different kinds if them in my garden!) – but the bokeh in your picture is very special and fine!

  3. What’s wrong with your lilac photo? Nice color and texture. Only suggestion would be to try a smaller aperture like f/11 or f/16 to increase depth of field on the flower. Being so close or using a telephoto would still smooth out the background.

    • Thanks Scott…tis was the only one of several worth saving. I can never seem to get a great angle…I’ll try your suggestions next time. I have another bush, a different purple, that I’d like to capture. Maybe evening light would work well?

      • Golden hour always works well. If not wet, spray them with some water, too. Nobody would question it this year. 😉
