So, they’re trying to shake things up a bit.
Sounds like Paula’s not too thrilled…

“We are turning the heat up on `Idol’ this year and are thrilled to welcome Kara to the judges’ table,” said creator and executive producer Simon Fuller in a statement. “She is a smart, sassy lady, and one of America’s most successful songwriters. We know she will bring a new level of energy and excitement to the show.”
DioGuardi’s songs have appeared on more than 100 million records by the likes of Christina Aguilera, Gwen Stefani, Celine Dion, Faith Hill, Pink, Britney Spears, Miley Cyrus, the Jonas Brothers, Jessica Simpson and Nick Lachey.
We also have Kara to thank for this:
Makes sense now as to why Heaven Knows was performed on Idol and why IT was pushed as a single.

HA!! I didn’t realize Heaven Knows was her doing….Hmmm…that does make sense now doesn’t it? I wonder how long this has been in the works? AND it’s mighty interesting that this news breaks so shortly after Nigel called it quits. Makes me wonder if he was the only reason Kara wasn’t added sooner…making the Heaven Knows performance even more suspicious if they had this in mind for last season, but couldn’t get the nod from Nigel.

So now that there’s going to be a FOURTH judge…does that mean each contestant has considerably less time to sing to allow commentary from FOURTH judge??? So these poor losers will have approximately 12.4 seconds to show what they’ve got?! LOL
